Unbelievable that Bill Gates and Melinda Gates Foundation is involved in the development of the toilet of the future.The foundation high lights a sobering fact that 40 percent of the world or 2.4 billion people lack clean sanitation facilities. Gates, pledges to eradicate world poverty, has awarded $100,000 to the California Institute of Technology,that provided a working version of futuristic toilet and transformed it into a self-contained solar unit capable of recycling water and breaking the waste into renewable energy. The prototype breaks down human waste through a solar-powered reactor converting it into usable hydrogen gas,for use at night. Inadequate sanitation facilities or non availability results in a major health problem.It is estimated more than 1.5 million children under the age 5 die each year because of sanitation issues.
