First Wooden Car In Vietnam

Nguyen Khang,is the owner of Binh Duong based wood processing firm Le Lumber.He has created first high quality wood car in Vietnam,called “Achilles”. A joke by a friend to present him a wooden car since Khang was in wood industry,germinated the idea.The drawings of this unusual automobile was completed in April 2011 and it took a team of 11 worker 16 months to finish it. The Achilles was finally completed last month and turned heads in the streets of Ho Chi Minh City. The entire body is 4.6m long and 1.8m wide and made from imported wood like xylia xylocarpa, ash, and walnut, and features beautiful carvings. The wooden body weighs nearly 1.5 tons, with BMW engine is able to withstand the heavy wooden body of the car.
