As part of the program of the Cultural capital of Europe, Norwegian Wood aimed at realizing a series of exemplary building projects through International Architectural competitions. The “Lantern” won the first place and was designed by French, Norwegian team AWP and Atelier Oslo. The pavilion is a shelter for different types of activities; a meeting point, a market place and a place for concerts and performances. It also represents the ancient Norwegian architecture. The strong four groups of oak columns look beautiful, contrast the simple shape of the pitched roof, made by overlapping layers of glass shingles.
