'sofa_xxxx' is an expandable and retractable seating unit designed by yuya ushida. The German Designer showcased it at the designers fair at Imm cologne 2011. 8000 chopsticks were individually cut to four different lengths and sanded to achieve the correct angles needed to build the structure. To connect the sofa rings and joints are used to give it flexibility. The project took three months to complete. It can take the weight of three people of 70 kg each.
